The people had had enough of the U.S. military presence and their imperialism. Fast forward to 2023 and a new President Marcos replacing a President Duterte. Talk about turning around 180 degrees. China is no longer a friend and ally of the Philippines. The Chinese presence in the South China Sea has become a threat to Philippine sovereignty. Instead of leaving the Philippines left to hang in the wind, the U.S. military is back in the Philippines courtesy of President Biden. The U.S. imperialists are back in the Philippines.
